My goal with each arrangement is to intrigue my client – to draw her in with an unexpected harmony of flowers and foliage. I believe that the true nature of flowers isn’t revealed until they are paired with their botanical counterparts – allowing them to stretch, unfurl and breathe. The texture and contrast of foliage, branches, berries, pods, and mosses work symbiotically with flowers to compliment the beauty of one another.
Because of my training in architecture I’m very critical of proportions, balance and details in my own work, and I apply these lessons every day to produce art with flowers and foliage. I create drama, surprise and contemplation within an arrangement through thoughtful combinations in color, texture and form. Each event, each arrangement, each stem placement is an opportunity to evoke feelings.
