In November I was honored to be able to participate in the Genesys Charity Ball at Warwick Hills. The theme was Monet’s Garden – a florist’s dream! One of my favorite photographers, Tamara at Silver Thumb Photography, came out to document the event.

Little clusters of Amnesia roses decorate the cocktail tables.

The centerpieces contained Amnesia, Maritim and Cream Prophyta roses, Little Silver spray roses, blush nerine lilies, agonis, seeded eucalyptus, bupleurum, scented geranium and birch branches.

Here’s an action shot of me arranging the final tall centerpiece.

The gorgeous peridot and olive green linens were provided by Lorrie at Special Occasions. Don’t you just love the contrasting chair ties finished with a side knot?
It was a great event for a great cause, and I was so happy to be a part of it!

I can finally stop complaining about how under-represented the Midwest is in wedding planning resources! I recently discovered, and fell in love with Rebecca Bednarz’s beautifully crafted website, Clover & Bee. Her blog, C&B Daily, is an incredible resource for the Midwestern bride.
And now it’s just a little bit sweeter…
I am absolutely tickled to be writing a monthly guest column over at C&B Daily!!! Check out the first post here. Future posts will highlight unusual flowers, show you how-to, and help you select flowers for your big day! If you have any requests for future columns, please shoot me an email!

Today I delivered some personal flowers to a wedding in Ann Arbor. Milena, the bride, contacted me two months ago, and we worked out all the details via email. Milena’s bouquet was a hand-tied cascade. The eucharis lilies were such a treat to work with!

After making the bouquet I had a couple extra stems, so I used the odds and ends to make a little centerpiece. I entered the centerpiece into Sprout’s $50 centerpiece challenge.

Congratulations Milena and Rob!

I don’t really like to cook, so if you invite me over for dinner I’ll bring the flowers.
Thanks for the bag of pine cones Dad.

At the end of September I was honored to participate in the Knot Industry Networking Party. It was held at the beautiful Waldenwoods in Hartland, Michigan. I had a blast working with some of my favorite vendors, and a few new vendors too! Erika Piquant at Eco-Posh Events planned the party. Lorrie at Special Occasions provided the beautiful linens. And one of my favorite photographers, Tamara at Silver Thumb Photography, documented the day.
The flowers in the tent were my favorite part of the event. I used smoke bush, tweedia, dusty miller, seeded eucalyptus, and bupleurum in low wooden boxes for the centerpieces. The centerpieces were accented with lace and silk wrapped votives, and set off with a pale blue pin-tuck runner from Special Occasions. Hanging above the tables were wreaths of smoke bush.
Inside, I made a few buffet table arrangements with variegated alocasia leaves, succulents and moss.
The cocktail tables were dressed with small boxes of wheatgrass, silk wrapped votives, and more beautiful pin-tuck linens from Special Occasions.

For more pictures and information from the event check out the feature at The Knot, or Erika’s write up at the Eco-Posh Events blog.

I love, love, love when photographers send me images! Especially when it is a photographer as talented as Brett Maxwell, with a bride as stunning as Sara!
Isn’t Sara just glowing?

Even Sara’s mother carried a bouquet!

Sara posing with her matron of honor, Ali… (You might remember Ali & John’s wedding from May of 2008) You look gorgeous ladies!!!

Sara and Walt…

The super stylish bridal party…

A couple of close-ups of the bouquets…

And a mossed monogram welcoming guests to the reception…

What gorgeous photos! Thank you Brett, you just made my day!

Here’s a sweet hand-tied cascade that I made up in October and forgot to share. It has blush nerine lilies, agonis, baby blue eucalyptus, seeded eucalyptus, and green leucadendron.

Last weekend I was super excited to be able to participate in the Genesys Charity Ball at Warwick Hills. The theme was “Monet’s Garden” – a florist’s dream! The photo below shows the low centerpieces relaxing in the cooler before their debut at the ball. One of my favorite photographers, Tamara at Silver Thumb Photography, came out to document the event, and I can’t wait to see what she came up with!
