Jessica & Derek in Grand Ledge

This was an interesting wedding. I worked mostly with the groom, Derek, to select the flowers for this wedding. He described to me his lilac and black color scheme and this is what we came up with: bridal bouquet with Schwartzwalder mini callas, Avant Garde roses, Cool Water roses and Viviane Spray roses

The bridal bouquet combines Schwartzwalder mini callas with Avant Garde roses, Cool Water roses and Viviane Spray roses.

The bridesmaids' bouquets are a smaller version of the bridal bouquet without the mini callas.

Avant Garde rose, Cool Water rose, and Schwartzwalder mini calla boutonnieres, all with seeded eucalyptus and lily grass accents

The boutonnieres for the family members, groomsmen, and the groom were each different. On the left, the fathers' boutonnieres were made up of a single Avant Garde rose with accents of seeded eucalyptus and lily grass. In the middle the groomsmen boutonnieres feature a Cool Water rose. And the groom's boutonniere matched the bridal bouquet with a Schwartzwalder mini calla.

Allison & Chris at Pine Knob Mansion

Autumn is a busy season at Floral Verde LLC, and there are several real weddings that I need to post about. We'll start with a very special couple, Allison and Chris. Allison found Floral Verde LLC online in late January. After working up a quote for her, she booked me for her wedding. We hit it off during our initial phone conversation, and I mentioned that I was looking to hire help for the upcoming wedding season.

Fast forward to May 28th - Allison is working on her first wedding with me! It was the start of wonderful personal and professional friendship, and we have since worked side by side on several weddings. So here is to my good friend and floral partner in crime - Allison!

Board #7: Vintage Hollywood in Pink and Champagne

Heather, an organized and hands-on bride from Texas, came to me with a precise vision of her wedding day. Equipped with samples of hand-made button details, vintage ribbon, a gorgeous wedding scrapbook, and every female member of her family, we had a very productive and fun meeting. the inspiration chosen by the bride - bouquets by Artfool from the Winter 2007 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings

Two of the inspirational bouquets in her scrapbook (pictured above) really spoke to me, and they both happen to be from the same Winter 2007 issue of Martha Stewart Weddings. The bouquets in this feature were all created by the very talented Matthew Robbins at Artfool. No wonder I was totally in love!

Here are the roses and peonies that I felt matched her vision for a 1930's Hollywood themed wedding with a color palette of antique pink, ivory, gold and black:

floral palette combining champagne, ivory and antique pink

Some of my favorite flowers on the board are the Faith rose (first row, first image) for its incredible size and antique color; the Hypnose rose (second row, first image) again for its antique color; the Celestial spray rose (fourth row, fourth image) for its opening pattern - it looks like a ranunculus; and all of the roses in the Prophyta family (fifth row, first, third and fourth images) for their romantic colors, affordability and their classic shape. If the floral palette weren't limited to roses and peonies I might also suggest using pink astilbe, tuberoses, pale pink ranunculus, peony tulips and pink hanging amaranthus.
