Married on the Beach

It was full of succulents and grasses, and even had a manzanita branch running through it.

Here’s a side view of the bouquet. I rescued the large blue succulent in the center from the Home Depot. It hung over the side of its pot from an unsightly, lanky and half dead stem. The sad little pot sat clustered on a cart with half a dozen others, about to be wheeled off the sales floor. But I loved that it had sent up a bloom, so I bought it, cut it short, and pulled off all of the dead leaves. Voilà! It was perfect for my project! I’ll replant all the succulents from the bouquet in a week or two, so I can reuse them later.

Here is one last shot of me holding the bouquet. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine how you’d carry an asymmetric bouquet until you see it being properly held. It’s funny (but not a big surprise) that the bouquet matches my jacket. I guess I just can’t help myself; there are just certain color palettes that I gravitate towards!
