Lauren and Ben are a couple with seriously good taste. They both have a background in the restaurant industry, so it's no surprise that they know all about gourmet food and how to throw an incredible party. They started with a historic venue, the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Belle Isle.
Belle Isle sits between the Detroit and the Canadian shoreline. In a desire to blend overriding theme of water with an autumn color scheme we came up with an over-the-top palette of blue, yellow, orange and red.
The bridal bouquet was brimming with cymbidium orchids, hydrangea, delphinium, seeded eucalyptus, and three kinds of roses: Black Baccara, Leonidas, and Cream Prophyta.
Here's Lauren, the mastermind behind the celebration, taking a moment with her father, and waiting for her queue to walk down the aisle. Isn't she stunning?

The Gothic Room, an actual room from the luxury liner City of Detroit III, makes a striking first impression on wedding guests, and is a gorgeous backdrop for the cake and desserts tables.
The cake was created and decorated by Daniel from Flower to Flour. His tuxedo strawberries were the best I’ve ever sampled! (Thanks Daniel!)
The band played all night in the Aaron DeRoy Hall, a room overlooking the Detroit River and Canada. I wish I had been there to see all of the beautiful candle light after sunset.
The centerpieces for this room contained cymbidium and vanda orchids, Black Baccara and Leonidas roses, Lemoncello spray roses, delphinium, myrtle and seeded eucalyptus.
