Lisa & Joe in New Bremen, Ohio

Joe is a good friend and collegue of mine. I met him at the University of Cincinnati while I was finishing up my BS in Architecture in the spring of 2007. During my time at UC I was also lucky to meet his fiancée, Lisa. Despite her busy schedule, she was often in studio delivering food and being supportive during long nights of model building. A designer at heart, Joe naturally became the guiding force in color selection and overall event design, and he did a marvelous job! He chose a bold color scheme of green and orange. How fun!

Here I am pinning on Joe's boutonniere

Doesn't he look dapper?

Here is his beautiful bride, Lisa. Her bridal bouquet contained green hydrangea, Super Green roses, Macarena and Lemoncello spray roses, berzillia baubles and myrtle.

The bridesmaids bouquets were pale green, yellow and white - a combination that really popped when set against their rust colored dresses. Their bouquets contained hydrangea, Super Green roses, Lemoncello spray roses, Polaris cushion pomps and myrtle.

Samples from a weekend meeting

On Saturday I had a consultation with Megan, a new bride that I began working with last Monday. Consultations are my favorite part of the design process, and this meeting was no exception. When I opened the door, I met Megan, her fiancé Will, and both sets of parents. I could already tell that this was going to be good! bridal bouquet and maid of honor bouquet with Escimo roses and lemoncello spray roses

I had a few samples already made up from extra flowers. The bouquets contained Escimo roses and Lemoncello spray roses. Lately, I have been smitten with butter-yellow!

boutonniere with a single Lemoncello spray rose and dusty miller accents

Finally, I whipped together this little boutonniere during the meeting. While scouring The Bride and Bloom for ideas, Will stumbled upon boutonniere that he liked. It was a slender piece featuring four delicate tuberose blossoms backed with dusty miller. I love dusty miller, so I hopped up, hurried out to my front yard, picked a sprig and paired it with an extra spray rose. Voilà !

Needless to say we had a fabulous time, and I sent everyone home with a few extra flowers. Thanks Megan and Will!

Sara & Jeff at Warwick Hills

Sara and Jeff are an incredibly sweet and in sync couple. Throughout all of our consultations and emails they worked together as a team to pull off a sophisticated and elegant event. The ceremony was held at the Church of the Holy Family in Grand Blanc. The reception was just down the road at Warwick Hills Golf & Country Club. I knew as soon as I booked the wedding that it would be amazing. I had all of the elements working with me: a gorgeous couple, an elegant venue, and my favorite local photographer - Emily Meyer-Jenkins from Signature Portrait Studio in Davison. The bridesmaids' bouquets in pale blue, green, and white really stand out against their espresso dresses.

Sara looking like a goddess

Isn't Sara gorgeous? I love how her beautiful red hair and teardrop jewelry complement her dress - creating a look that is reminiscent of a goddess!

Before I left Warwick Hills, my last task was to situate the floral cake topper. It contained dendrobium orchids, delphinium, chocolate cosmos, seeded eucalyptus and eucalyptus pods. I was impressed by the detailing on the beautiful cake. The hand-piped butter cream flourishes were absolutely immaculate. It was created by the Sweet and Savory Bake Shop in Oxford, MI.

Thanks again to Emily Meyer-Jenkins of Signature Portrait Studio for the beautiful photos!

Congratulations Sara and Jeff!
